Who is The MacMaster?
Welcome to the home of The MacMaster, A British YouTube Personality, Filmmaker and Vlogger who’s channel is about Travel, Food and Tech and meeting people along the way.
The MacMaster who’s real name is Lee Alexander Davey started making films with his Dad’s video camera at 8 years old and began filming weddings at the early age of 9 years old. Although Lee wanted a career in filmmaking at the age of 16 Lee joined the local newspaper The Chad in his hometown of Mansfield to train as a Graphic Designer, a move that would change his life forever!
The Chad was the first local newspaper in the UK to use Apple Macintosh Computers. Lee had a passion for computers and technology and was in his element and armed with the latest Apple Mac SE at his disposal he helped shape and change the way Graphic Design and Advertising in the local newspaper industry was heading. This is where he got his name The MacMaster from.
After making his way to Studio Manager at The Chad he moved to The Derby Daily Telegraph as Graphic Designer whilst still keeping his love for filmmaking alive by filming weddings at the weekend.
After 2 years at the Derby Daily Telegraph Lee was offered a position at The Nottingham Evening Post as Creative Director which he took but on a Freelance basis where he spent many years running their design studio and overseeing and handling their in house print, as time went on Lee was beginning to spread his wings and relinquished his Creative Director role but still kept on working for them on a freelance basis for Graphic Design and Print. However this also transformed into creating promotional in-house videos for their sales department and from there went on to filming for their East Midlands events team for their Food and Drink Awards Environmental and Business Awards.
Lee enjoyed his time filming for The Newspaper Events Team especially The Food and Drink Awards however he also always had a passion for being in front of the camera as well as behind it and having total control over the creativity so decided to turn his hand to YouTube starting with travel and food videos and also the odd tech video thrown in the mix. A little nervous at first if you watch back to the early videos but overtime evolving into The MacMaster that you see today. Lee puts his heart and soul into creating every YouTube Video. researching, filming, appearing in the video, editing and designing the thumbnails.
The best thing of all about this YouTube Journey and the most important part however is you, the subscribers who Lee considers as his friends. Because without you none of this would be possible.
